Keto Dinner, Meal #15: Breaking the Fast!

I did about 21 hours of fasting the other day so this was my lean Keto meal to break my fast at 6pm. (A late post, sorry) I enjoyed marinated Atlantic salmon (ginger, garlic, lemon, herbs, oil), string beans with chia seeds and lemon zest and a salad of mixed greens, heirloom tomatoes, avocado, blackberries, feta, white onion and cucumber. I used oil and vinegar dressing.

I've been practicing intermittent fasting more in the last 7 days and that involves eating one-meal-a-day. Generally I've not been at the point of Holy crap I cannot do this. By the time dinner roles around I am hungry but I don't experience hunger pains per se during the day. A lot of this has to do with more fat in the diet from Keto. It's key to eating once a day. I feel fasting truly helps among other things, regulate my blood sugar levels so they its even keeled just like a sturdy boat throughout the day. A nice straight or sightly wobbly glucose level is what I want to see on my Freestyle Diabetes app. It's brilliant, mind-clearing, awakening and empowering. I will discuss in my next post (4 weeks on Keto update) other things I've encountered in the last week and it hasn't been 100% easy.

XO, Dayna
